Ethereum has announced an upcoming change of the underlying consensus mechanism of the blockchain network (the “Merge”). The Merge is a significant upgrade which will result in the current Ethereum Mainnet transitioning its consensus protocol from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake. The Merge is expected to take place on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm (GMT +8). OSL will be supporting the Merge.
- Following the Merge, all customers’ existing ETH and ERC-20 digital asset* balances with OSL will be carried over to the Proof of Stake chain. - During the Merge, a longer than usual platform outage is expected. - You will not be able to make a deposit/withdrawal of ETH and other ERC 20 digital assets* with OSL during the Merge. The estimated Deposit & Withdrawal suspension start time is therefore be adjusted to September 15, 2022 at 11:00 am (GMT+8) - Trading may be impacted during the Merge due to uncertainties in the market.
